It's early morning on a crisp
February day. I'm sitting at the Denver airport just as dawn
begins to streak the sky over the snow-crowned Rocky Mountains.
I'm listening to a fascinating CD of
"Founding Brothers" by Joseph Ellis and marveling again at
his ability to bring history alive and give critical insights into
historical events and characters.
It's a far cry from the moldering plaster icons
of my school days or the third rate actors hawking products for
Presidents Day Sales.
Ellis draws you into the
Founders’ world and makes you want to understand what was going on in
the US 200 years ago…
and what it tells us about issues we face today.
